Since then, I've expanded my career into the broader field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology, but I haven't followed a traditional career path. Mine was inverted, starting in leadership roles and then moving to individual consulting roles. ​I discovered that my inverted career path enabled me to build a solid foundation of essential leadership skills that I've relied on throughout my career. I attribute this to developing the ability to reconfigure skills, which is missing from how we train new leaders today.

I started Kinney Coaching and Consulting LLC to coach new leaders in navigating the challenges of entering a leadership role for the first time, mirroring my own path. I call this The Inverted Leadership Journey, where new leaders reconfigure their existing skills for people leadership. This journey creates a strong foundation for new leaders to rely upon and grow from as they progress in their careers.

​I offer a range of coaching services that provide the same individualized support as executive coaching, but for new leaders. I also work with businesses to provide consultations on assessing, designing, building, and maintaining onboarding and development programs for new leaders.
